Derbyshire Freemasons Keep Drums Beating for Derwent Brass
The combined efforts of Belper based Freemasons ‘Bradelei Lodge’ and the ‘Provincial Grand Lodge of Derbyshire’ have resulted in a sizeable donation to Derwent Brass.

The combined efforts of Belper based Freemasons ‘Bradelei Lodge’ and the ‘Provincial Grand Lodge of Derbyshire’ have resulted in a sizeable donation to Derwent Brass.
This would not have been possible without the great support from the Derbyshire Freemasons, who nominated them for the Masonic Charity Foundation vote and all their supporters who took a little time to vote for them.
W. Bro Anthony Bamford IPM on the far left and W. Bro Richard Toon Charity Steward far right were recently delighted to present two cheques to the branch Chairman and Secretary of SAFFA Derbyshire branch based in Belper.
It is 60 years since PWS was discovered, and the Masonic Charitable Foundation is marking the event with a grant of £10,000 to the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association UK. The donation will help to fund a support worker for families with a PWS child in the south of England.
When Pioneer Lodge learned that Derbyshire Scouts needed a new activity and accommodation centre at the county camp site, Drum Hill, members wanted to support the venture. Not only had some of them been volunteers at the site over the years, and some had actually helped build the previous centre, Birch Hall, but Pioneer Lodge itself has had a long attachment to Drum Hill.

Derbyshire Dales Careline are extremely honoured to have been presented with a Community Award, plus an incredible £2,000 by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Derbyshire Freemasons.
The awards totalled £25,000 Two hundred people were present at the awards ceremony including HM Lord Lieutenant for Derbyshire, Mr William Tucker, the High Sheriff, Mrs Annie Hall, the Deputy Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England, RW Bro. Jonathan Spence and the Provincial Grand Master for Derbyshire, RW Bro. Steven Varley, together with civic leaders, charity workers and senior Freemasons from across the county
Responding to an appeal by WB Jonty Powis SLGR ( Chairman of the Management for City of Derby Sea Cadets and Ex Navy Officer), WB Danny Brown ( Worshipful Master, Littleover Lodge 9565 ) was pleased to offer support to the City of Derby Sea Cadets on behalf of his Lodge.
Wednesday February 1st saw the Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Steven Varley welcomed to Fairfield Lodge Annual Burns Night by the Worshipful Master, WBro David Ross, where 26 visitors along with the Lodge members witnessed the ceremony of Passing on Bro Paul Allen
