AS part of the 300 year celebrations to mark the formation of the Freemasons the Unity Lodge in Crediton will be holding an Open Day on Saturday, September 2, from 2pm to 6pm.
Roclyffe Lodge No 5198 that meets at Bacup have recently had two applicants for Initiation into their Lodge. The first of these Initiations took place on Thursday 25th May but, due to holidays and other commitments of their members, they had a shortfall of numbers of their members who were able to take part in the Initiation Ceremony
The donation has enabled the purchase of a pair of surgical loupes (a loupe is a magnification device to help surgeons see small details more closely) and a light source.
Isle of Man Post Office are proud that their stamps were chosen as the official stamps of the Tercentenary Celebrations by the United Grand Lodge of England and were pleased to support the charitable efforts that benefited these crucial Air Ambulance charities.
Acorns Children’s Hospice care for children and young people and their families across the heart of England. They have three children’s hospices – Selly Oak – Birmingham West Midlands, Worcester and Walsall. They provide a wide range of care services for children, from neonatal all the way through to transition to adulthood. Services include ongoing medical support, end of life care and providing hospices at home.

The foundation stone of the Freemasons Hall in Melbourne was laid by him in March 1885, the finished building being consecrated by him to Masonic purposes in March 1887. In 1889 he became the very first Most Worshipful Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of Victoria, an amalgamation of the three bodies that had operated at that time under their own constitutions. In 1885 he had largely financed the building of the Freemasons’ Hall at 25 Collins Street.
A Catholic may join regular Freemasonry but ought to consult his Bishop, through his parish priest, not for permission to join but to ascertain the nature of the jurisdiction concerned. (Regular or Irregular)
