A group of Widows Son’s Masonic Biker’s Association from the North West Chapter had a ride around Cheshire & Shropshire last weekend, calling in at J&S Motorcycle Superstore for a brew and a bit of man shopping. If any Masonic motorcyclists are interested in joining the Widows Sons contact Andrew Baxendale on 07786624681 or check out www.northwestchapter.com
On Friday 28th July 2017, members of the newly formed Cumbria Chapter of the Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association rode down to Mold in Northern Wales to attend the Widows Sons 2017 National Rally and to receive their official Charter.
There were so many things different about the emergency chapter meeting held at Bryn Masonic Hall. Firstly, proceedings commenced at 8:30 on a Saturday morning with a hearty breakfast. The chapter was meeting miles away from its official home. The car park was full of motorcycles. Many of the companions wore their regalia over motorcycle leathers. No festive board followed the meeting, and the companions ‘got on their bikes’ and rode away. Unusual to say the least, but perfectly normal once you know the story.
Another successful event raising money for charity, in this case Lifelites. Donations are still coming in, but we hope to hit the £8k mark.
Well done to Leslie Fraser for organising the event again this year, and to all who gave their time to complete the event, and everyone who donated and supported us.·
The Durham Chapter of The Widows Sons was formed on 1st January 2015 by members of Freemasons Lodges within the Province of Durham. They are the Durham Chapter of The Widows Sons of Great Britain.

TLC Ireland and Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association Ireland
Teddies for Loving Care – TLC Ireland and Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association Ireland recently attended the Ulster Hospital Emergency Department to mark the donation of the 100,000th ‘TLC’ Teddy Bear’.
TLC have donated teddy bears to the Emergency Departments in the Ulster, Lagan Valley & Downe hospitals over the past few years for staff to give to children or patients at their discretion. Giving a teddy bear to anyone who is distressed while in hospital will enable the medical staff to carry on with their vital work and help children and families have a more comforting experience.
The teddies will be used in various ways, for the child or patient to cuddle as a reward for being brave and for staff to demonstrate what they are going to do. The teddies also act as a distraction and can provide reassurance for the child which helps, parents, guardians and siblings.
Teddies for Loving Care (TLC) is a charity supported by the Masonic Order within Ireland who donate sterile packaged teddy bears to hospital Emergency Departments in both Northern and Southern Ireland.
The South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust would like to sincerely thank TLC for their donations to date and for their continued support in donating teddy bears to our Emergency Departments.
On 21st June the peace and quiet of Trafalgar Lawn, the home of the Masonic Centre in Barnstaple, was shattered by the arrival of sixteen large powerful motorcycles! Brothers from the ‘Widows Sons South East Chapter’ were on a marathon 24 hour ride visiting 12 Provinces in the South of England from Kent to Cornwall and back to Kent.
