The next Quarterly Communications of Grand Lodge will be held on Wednesday 13th September 2017 at 12 noon and will normally be concluded around 1.00 pm. MMs are required to arrive by 11.15am for registration and be seated by 11.45am.
The event, now in its 18th year was staged by Ludlow’s Lodge of the Marches at Culmington Village Hall, and this year attracted a bumper amount of diners with about 150 turning out compared to last year’s 110.
Organiser Colin Edwards said it was heartening to see, and said the event had raised £1,700 from food and a raffle to go towards good causes in the future.
When being asked, what would be the value of a diamond, mostly everybody answers in terms of higher amounts of money. A poor wanderer in the desert, in need of a cup of water, would probably give a better answer to this question, because he reflects of value in a different way. “Most valuable” for him means, “serving his needs and desires best”.
There has been a change of Local Communications Officer for Peterborough, with WBro Craig Bunday now taking over from WBro Russell Laxton, who has made a significant contribution for many years.
The Jewel can be worn by any member of UGLE who is a member between the 24 June 2016 and 31 December 2017. It can only be worn by Master Masons and above. Anyone initiated between those dates can purchase the Tercentenary Jewel but will not be eligible to wear it until they have been raised. The Jewel can be worn by Master Masons, Masters and Past Masters and Grand Officers.
The Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons and the Mark Benevolent Fund have supported the Order of St John and St John Ambulance for many years, the Mark Benevolent Fund has now joined in partnership with the charity and pledged £3,023,700 for a two year programme to provide up to 52 replacement state of the art ambulances and support vehicles.
EACH year the Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Cornwall asks each of it’s 32-member lodges to submit grant applications for nominated local worthy causes.
The members of Sir Bevil Granville Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1231, which meets in Bude, nominated Bude Memory Café and were delighted that a grant of £250 was awarded.

From this Autumn South Cheshire Lodge No 5571 based at Willaston, Crewe, will become the Provincial Scouting Themed Lodge and Brethren who have been involved in any area of Scouting, including any Scout leaders who are considering joining Freemasonry are interested, please contact Michael Shiels by email
