Durham Freemasons Raby Castle fun day raises over £50,000 for charity

A FUN day has raised more than £50,000 for charity.

On Saturday, July 2, the Freemasons of the Province of Durham hosted a gala family fun day in the grounds of Raby Castle, near Staindrop, in Teesdale.

The event was to raise funds for the Durham 2021 Festival appeal in which they hope to raise close to £3 million for the children’s charity – the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys.

James Andrew Griffin was Advanced a member of the Fairways Lodge on Thursday 14th July at the regular lodge meeting held at Coventry Masonic Centre, following a good days golf at Hearsall Golf Club. Jame’s is a Director of the Masonic Centre at Coventry so it was very much a home fixture for him.

The Warwickshire Provincial Church Service – Sunday 12th June

As is tradition the annual church service began with lunch followed by a procession of the Provincial Grand Master, visiting dignitaries and Grand Officers escorted by Acting Provincial Grand Officers from Alderson House through Warwick to the church. Whilst the British weather threatened the procession, the worst of the rain held off and failed to dampen spirits. Visitors to Warwick had their cameras at the ready to capture the spectacle of Freemasons processing in full Regalia.

Porthkerry Freemasons Lodge donate £763 to Goshin and Kudo Academy.

Porthkerry Lodge have, for a second year running, helped to raise funds for a local group, Goshin and Kudo Academy.

They hosted a ‘cheap as chips’ night at the Barry Masonic Temple, where around 80 guests enjoyed a chip supper, had a flutter on a series of horse races and were royally entertained by local musician, and lodge member, Tony Hill and his band.
