Promoting the Fraternity across the World
Freemasons are keen to dispel the secrecy associated with the movement, and held a series of We’re Open events this week to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the United Grand Lodge of England, the governing body of Freemasonry in England and Wales.
Every spring and autumn, Freemasons from around Devon meet to give support totalling in excess of £45,000 to local charities and organisations throughout the county who are in need of assistance.
The money is raised by the WAKE Fund – a trust conceived by the Right Worshipful Brother William Alexander Kneel, Masonic Provincial Grand Master from 1970 to 1984.

During his year as the Worshipful Master of Coritani Lodge – one of the five Masonic Lodges which meet in Daventry – WBro Max Reynolds held a number of social and sporting events to raise funds in support of several national and local charities which are close to his family’s heart.
