Sure and Stedfast Lodge No 9326 bow out with Two Donations

The closure of Sure and Stedfast Lodge No 9326 was not the final act of this former Boy’s Brigade lodge at Liverpool. Renowned for their generosity of spirit across the years, the members on closure settled all bills, ensured a provision to lodge widows and contemplated where the residue would be best placed. It was agreed to make two pecuniary donations, the recipients chosen being Liverpool Masonic Hall and the Kindred Lodges Association.

We would offer as a starting point a commonly held view that the arrangements with major impact on human existence are those of the state, family and market with a fourth “civil society” being the totality of other institutions. These groupings are not fixed. The Livingston Library’s lecture series continues with Angel Millar. Angel is the author of a number of titles related to Freemasonry. His articles on esotericism, spirituality, history, and culture have also been published in Quest magazine, the Journal of Indo-European Studies, and Philalethes, among others.

Abgel has spent more than a decade researching, writing about, and lecturing on Freemasonry and its relationship to Western esotericism and other spiritual traditions and their societies and Orders.

The main focus of this lecture will be Freemasonry’s relationship to various societies and movements in both the East and West over the last three centuries and their attempt to ‘ride the tiger’ of modernity.
