Residents at a Scarborough care group can stay in touch with their loved ones during the coronavirus crisis thanks to generous local Freemasons.
The items were donated as a response to the Amazon patient wish list set up by Hywel Dda University Health Board’s official charity.
The Freemasons’ purchases of much-needed pyjamas, loungewear, dressing gowns and underwear – nearly 1,000 items in total – will be used to help patients at hospitals throughout the Hywel Dda health board area.
The League says patients and staff at the Horton General Hospital, Banbury will benefit from the cash donation by Castle Lodge, based in Banbury.
The money will be used for equipment to help staff and patient care at the Banbury hospital.
The premises in Priory Place is now set to install a lift over the next couple of weeks, making the building accessible to all, following a £2,500 donation from the Magdalen Chapter of the Doncaster Freemasons
The money will go towards the new Lealholme community bus project that will allow residents to continue to have trips, increase involvement with the community and enjoy activities while living at the home.

Sheffield Touch of Colour Stroke Group is a Stroke Association voluntary group. The group meets each month to explore different artistic techniques, and help members overcome the devastating effects of stroke. Originally an art course run by the Stroke Association, the art group became Sheffield Touch of Colour in April 2018, run by the charity’s volunteers in the area.
A local Freemasons branch has presented Louth Churches For Refugees with a £500 cheque, which will support a family who are due to settle in Louth next month.
