Just under £5000 was presented to the Ashworth Valley Scout Camp on Wednesday 22nd March 2017. The donation was to fund the fitting of a heating system in one of the camping buildings on the site
Bryan Redshaw, Worshipful Master of the St Saviour Lodge handed over a Laptop and i-Pad purchased for York children’s charity, The Island, to Nigel Poulton and Emma Bewlay of the charity.Receiving the equipment, Mentoring Co-ordinator, Nigel Poulton said that ‘The laptop and iPad will enable us to carry out some of our work much more easily
Karin Grandal-Park of Leonard Cheshire Home Windermere for £600.00. The money had been raised by freemasons on the occasion of W Bro Bland’s 50 years in Freemasonary certificate presentation in February from a collection, raffle and auction of table decorations made by his wife Mary.

On Sunday 30th April 2017, the Old Oakhamian Lodge meeting in Oakham held its annual Ladies Lunch at the stunning venue of Launde Abbey, East Norton, with over sixty people in attendance. During the afternoon a collection was made through generous donations from the lodge and a raffle, enabling W.Bro Chris Gibbins to present a cheque of £400 to Rainbows Hospice, Loughborough.
Dorothy House provides compassionate care and support for people in the community with a life-limiting illness, caring for patients and their families in Bath and north east Somerset and parts of Wiltshire and Somerset at home, in the hospice, or at one of an outreach centres.
South Shields dancers perform for thousands at Wembley
On Saturday, 24th June, the gardens of Worshipful Brother Darrell Clayton and his lovely wife Sally, in Gata de Gorgos, were again thrown open to hold another stunning ‘Glyndebourne in Gata’ celebration. This is now an annual event, organised by local Freemasons, which is modelled after the grand Glyndebourne event in England although on a slightly smaller scale. Not withstanding that this classical concert was incredible and everyone there enjoyed it enormously. The idea is generally of a black tie, classical music event to be held in Darrell and Sally’s magnificent gardens.
On Friday 16th June a presentation was made, by the Masonic Homes of Valencia Association, to the main hospital in Denia.
The presentation was for a cheque to pay for a second CT scanner which has been sorely needed by the hospital for some time. Currently when the older machine is in use or in need of repair, or even being serviced, patients often need to travel long distances for diagnosis before treatment can begin. This is obviously not good and creates further stress and hardship at a time when such problems are least needed.
From this Autumn South Cheshire Lodge No 5571 based at Willaston, Crewe, will become the Provincial Scouting Themed Lodge and Brethren who have been involved in any area of Scouting, including any Scout leaders who are considering joining Freemasonry are interested, please contact Michael Shiels by email
