At a ceremony on Sunday, July 16, the Freemasons of Orient Lodge presented a dedicated rescue ski entitled ‘The Boy Ian’, named in memory of former Master of The Lodge, Ian Paterson.
The Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons and the Mark Benevolent Fund have supported the Order of St John and St John Ambulance for many years, the Mark Benevolent Fund has now joined in partnership with the charity and pledged £3,023,700 for a two year programme to provide up to 52 replacement state of the art ambulances and support vehicles.
Over the past five years Freemasons from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Valencia have been supporting a children’s summer camp and funding places for children to attend. This offers disadvantaged and underprivileged children the opportunity to undertake tasks, sports and cultural activities that they would otherwise be unable to afford. The cost of each child is paid for, in full, by the Masons so there is no cost to parents, the home, school or carers.
Pembrokeshire County Swimming’s (PCS) National Performance Squad received the gift as a joint donation from the Masonic Province of West Wales and Cleddau Lodge of Freemasons, which meets in Haverfordwest where the squad is based.
Football Lodge 9921 is once again delighted to announce another sponsorship of youth football with the kit sponsorship of Fareham Town Under 13’s
WM David Lallana presented every kit personally to each player with manager Richard Appleton who is also a member of the lodge.
Andy Palmer was installed as Master of United Service Lodge No. 3124 for the second time in October 2016. He wanted to do something to assist the lodge’s charitable work during his year in office. In a moment of madness he decided to sign up for the London to Brighton Cycle ride. To say he is a keen cyclist is stretching the point – a ‘Sunday’ cyclist is nearer the mark.
For the second time in the last twenty years Mark Masonry has undertaken to provide St Johns Ambulance Service with a number of fully equipped state of the art ambulances for use throughout the UK.

A £56,000 grant from the Foundation has funded a new ambulance for the Haverfordwest Division of St John Cymru Wales.
EACH year the Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Cornwall asks each of it’s 32-member lodges to submit grant applications for nominated local worthy causes.
The members of Sir Bevil Granville Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1231, which meets in Bude, nominated Bude Memory Café and were delighted that a grant of £250 was awarded.
On Sunday 2nd July, the West Cumbria Hospice at Home Colour Run took place at Muncaster Castle. Over 800 people entered the event which consisted of a 1 km and a 5 km circuit. The 5k or 1k courses were open to all ages, genders and abilities and encouraged people to have fun, get messy and raise money for a great cause. The organisers of the event were hoping to raise over £30k on the day to contribute to the running of the Hospice at Home Charity
