Promoting the Fraternity across the World
The MS Therapy Centres aim is to keep their members as mobile and as independent as possible within the confines of their condition. Their Vision is for a centre of excellence providing professional specialist therapies and support for people with MS in a self-help environment that inspires and empowers.
The facility was funded by a $500,000 donation from the Ocean City Masonic Lodge No. 171 through an endowment for Alzheimer’s treatment established by the now-deceased Flora Baker, a local businesswoman. Baker set up the endowment in honor of her late husband, Benjamin, who was a member of the Ocean City Masons.
Contact the Elderly is dedicated to tackling loneliness and social isolation among older people. Supported by a network of volunteers, the charity organises monthly Sunday afternoon tea parties for small groups of older people, aged 75 and over, who live alone.
MiH was launched in 1948 with a grant to provide live music concerts in mental and orthopaedic hospitals and in TB sanatoria. The organisation now provides live music performances across the healthcare sector for adults and children, now covering the UK and the Channel Islands.
