The highly successful and inaugural South Central Area cheque presentation evening, was held at Southampton Masonic Centre, Albion Place, last night in support of Area Lodges donating a fantastic sum of £21,808.75 to 22 non-Masonic Charities and good causes, locally.

Horsforth mini bus service gets back on the road

HORSFORTH’s charity minibus is back on the road after the previous vehicle was stolen last year.

The bus, which is run entirely by volunteers, provides a vital service for mainly elderly people but also for community groups.

But the service was left unable to operate after the minibus was stolen last July.

Now, it is up and running again thanks to a donation of £2,500 from the West Riding Masonic Charity and an insurance payment.

It was indeed a great pleasure to witness the work being done by a small team of dedicated teachers at ASADIS in Los Gallardos this morning. They look after and develop children with ‘special needs’ such as autism. The Mojacar Freemasons came together and presented 1,000 euros to this very worth while charity which will be used to purchase materials and equipment to further their work next term.

Freemasonry helping the York Flood Appeal

Generosity of donors had made an enormous difference in helping residents to rebuild their lives.Colin Stroud, chair of the York Disaster Fund, said 250 grants totalling £440,000 had been given out so far to 175 households, so there were still funds available to which people could apply. Yorkshire Freemasons have, to date, contributed £25,000 to the appeal.
