Andy Palmer was installed as Master of United Service Lodge No. 3124 for the second time in October 2016. He wanted to do something to assist the lodge’s charitable work during his year in office. In a moment of madness he decided to sign up for the London to Brighton Cycle ride. To say he is a keen cyclist is stretching the point – a ‘Sunday’ cyclist is nearer the mark.

FREEMASONS from the Bordon, Alton and Petersfield masonic centres held a charity-presentation evening in celebration of the 300th year of the United Grand Lodge of England.

The evening was held at the Bordon Masonic Centre, in Woolmer Way, on June 12 and, said organisers, was well attended by local charity and community representatives.

Freemasons make £1,950 Charity Donation to Cynthia Spencer Hospice

Ceres Lodge of the Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire Province have made a wonderful gift of £1,950 to Cynthia Spencer Hospice. Immediate Past Master of Ceres Lodge, Richard Cooke handed the donation to Hospice Fundraising Manager John Helm and Practice Development Lead Amanda Taylor at a White Table meeting at Freemason’s Hall last week, following a talk on the modern Hospice movement and Cynthia Spencer Hospice.

Kenlis Lodge No.1267, Pillar Lodge No.7615, Sewell Lodge No.421, Scawfell Lodge No.1397 and Dent Lodge No.216 all contributed to raise a total of £250, which was presented by some of the Lodge members to Linda Hewitt and Stella Walsh representatives from Hospice at Home.

Freemasons donate £10,000 to Norfolk Carers Support charity

Dozens of children who care for sick and disabled family members are to receive a boost from a £10,000 grant.

The large donation to the Norfolk Carers Support charity was provided by the Norfolk Freemasons which came through The Masonic Charitable Foundation – funded by Freemasons from across England and Wales.

It will allow Norfolk Carers Support to continue with its young carers project.

On Sunday 30th April 2017, the Old Oakhamian Lodge meeting in Oakham held its annual Ladies Lunch at the stunning venue of Launde Abbey, East Norton, with over sixty people in attendance. During the afternoon a collection was made through generous donations from the lodge and a raffle, enabling W.Bro Chris Gibbins to present a cheque of £400 to Rainbows Hospice, Loughborough.

Dorothy House provides compassionate care and support for people in the community with a life-limiting illness, caring for patients and their families in Bath and north east Somerset and parts of Wiltshire and Somerset at home, in the hospice, or at one of an outreach centres.
