The members and guests of Morecambe Chapter No 1561 gave an especially enthusiastic welcome to John William Robson when he attended their installation convocation as principal guest. On the occasion John was attended by acting Provincial officers Jim Richards and David Tattersall.
Another successful event raising money for charity, in this case Lifelites. Donations are still coming in, but we hope to hit the £8k mark.
Well done to Leslie Fraser for organising the event again this year, and to all who gave their time to complete the event, and everyone who donated and supported us.·
Ribble Valley Talking Newspaper provide an audio version of local newspapers in the Clitheroe area, including the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times. The Talking Newspaper is for blind and partially sighted local residents and it comes out as a CD every Friday.
On Tuesday 2nd May, 2017, four members of Unity Chapter 2341, which meets at Westholme, Mossley Masonic Hall, visited Oldham Mountain Rescue Team at their base of Operations, the Cross Keys Inn in Uppermill. Oldham Mountain Rescue Team is a voluntary organisation whose objective is “to save life and alleviate distress, primarily in upland and mountain areas” without cost or obligation.
Eric Hart was appointed and invested as the Provincial Grand Almoner at Provincial Grand Lodge. He succeeds Ernie Greenhalgh who has retired from the office in order to undertake other national responsibilities within the Masonic care system. Eric will also shortly assume the same role as PrGAlm within Provincial Grand Chapter.
At the recent 2017 Installation meeting of Pentalpha Chapter No.974, senior subscribing Past First Principal, E.Comp Harold Hawkyard, PPrGSN, age 92, was scheduled to give the Address to the Three Principals. Unfortunately E.Comp Hawkyard unexpectedly found himself hospitalised following a mishap at home a few days earlier and was unable to attend the meeting

A “wonderful convocation” were the words used by the Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison when he attended the 17th annual installation convocation of Knott End Chapter No 8674 as its principal guest. The occasion was further enriched by the presence of not one, but two Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals in the persons of Christopher (Chris) Butterfield and David Randerson.
