The long-awaited Auction of Promises was held at Oswestry’s Wynnstay Hotel on 1st July in the presence of Provincial Grand Master Peter Taylor and his lady Pat. There were nearly 70 lots provided, from a beautiful ring through paintings, bottles and promises of flights, holidays, tuition in an array of skills, and much more besides. Auctioneer Michael Tomley was called on for all of his professional wiles as he attempted to part over 100 people from their cash.

Last Christmas the Provincial Charity Steward, Wayne Smith, asked you to consider supporting your local communities by sponsoring a child from a disadvantaged background to attend a Pantomime during the Christmas holidays. An initial two hundred and fifty places were reserved and thanks to your magnificent response, six hundred and ninety disadvantaged Children, Parents and Carers had a special Christmas treat! Due to an unexpected business commitment coinciding with the date of the 2015 installation meeting of Lodge of Perseverance No 155, Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master Philip Gardner had to take a rain check as the representative of the Provincial Grand Master. However, after being assigned the duty for 2016, Philip was delighted to represent on this very special occasion.
