A SHARE of £53,619 has been donated to St Elphin’s Church by the Warrington Masonic Group of Lodges and Chapters.

Each year the group made up of Freemasons has a ‘giving day’, which is usually held at the end of the Masonic season of meetings, culminating in May.

This year £53,619 was given to charities – £25,852 to non-Masonic organisations in the area and £27,767 to Masonic groups.

Members also made a donation of £500 to St Elphin’s Church, in addition to an earlier one of £274.

Other beneficiaries include Derian House Children’s Hospice, St Rocco’s Hospice, Radley Common Luncheon Club, Warrington Civic Society’s Crosfield Bell Appeal, Alzheimer’s Society, Ronald McDonald House and Walton Lea Project.

Donations were also made to around 40 other organisations.
