Selby Freemasons help local Girl Guide

Bethan Meadley with the Selby Freemasons

SELBY Freemasons are helping to send a local girl on a summer camp adventure holiday, thanks to a £350 donation.

Bethan Meadley, who lives near Selby, suffers from Global Development Disorder, a condition which causes severe learning difficulties meaning that she cannot read or write, loses concentration and cannot be left unsupervised.

She belongs to the Sherburn-in-Elmet Girl Guides and this summer wants to join her troop on a summer camp adventure holiday in Switzerland, but was being stymied by the £700 cost.

Now, thanks to donations form the Selby-based masons of the Lodge of St Germain No. 566, and the Yorkshire North & East Ridings Masonic Provincial Grand Charity, Bethan will be able to join her Girl Guiding friends for the adventure.
