Residents at RMBI care home Scarbrough Court in Cramlington recently enjoyed a visit from Blondie the pony.
Animal therapy company KL Pony Therapy brought seven year old Blondie to the Home to spend time with residents. She visited each resident and they all got a chance to stroke her and ask questions.
“Animals play an important role at Scarbrough Court, providing companionship to both residents and staff. Their presence can help people to feel more comfortable and relaxed, especially for those who have had pets before they moved into the Home,” says Activities Coordinator Maureen Rolf.
“Blondie even visited residents on our nursing floor that were unable to leave their rooms and it really brightened their day.”
The event was organised by Activities Coordinator Maureen Rolf, as part of the Home’s ‘Animals and Nature’ themed activities during spring.
