Wyggeston Lodge to appear in Sky 1 documentary ‘Inside The Freemasons’

Over the past few months, the Leicester based Wyggeston Lodge and its’ members have been filmed as part of the forthcoming new four-part documentary ‘Inside The Freemasons’ to be shown on Sky 1 this winter.

The exclusive documentary will feature the most in-depth look ever at the Freemasons in the run up to our 300th anniversary in 2017

On a hot summers evening brethren from the newly amalgamated Ormskirk and Bootle Group, accompanied with their wives and many guests attended the FROTH Gala Cabaret Dinner and Dance, which Bootle Group has been running annually for the last 20 years. This year the event was held at the magnificent surroundings of the West Lancashire Golf Club.

Frederick Arthur Stanley, 16th Earl of Derby was a British politician and sportsman.

Stanley was born on January 15th, 1841 in London. He was educated at Eton College and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. He received a commission in the Grenadier Guards and rose to the rank of captain.

Among the many treasures in the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library’s collection is this Society of the Cincinnati certificate, issued to Samuel Newman. It is dated May 5, 1784 and is signed by both George Washington (1732-1799) in his capacity as President of the Society of the Cincinnati and by Henry Knox (1750-1806) in his capacity as Secretary.
