Summer Ball 2016 Review – Province of Hampshire & I.O.W

The South East Area recently held a very successful Summer Ball at the Officers Mess in Southwick House; just under 200 attended the event, including the Deputy P.G.M. the A.P.G.M. and the Area Chairman, accompanied by their wives.

Why do Scottish Freemasons celebrate the 4th of July? Look at any Scottish calendar, diary or any other document that lists important dates (holidays, ‘international’ days, dates of birth and deaths of ‘important’ people etc.) and none has any apparent relevance to Scottish Freemasonry.

At the regular meeting of The Lord Roborough Lodge, No. 5789 held on 22nd June, WBro. Clem Spencer of the Heartswell Charity presented a defibrillator to WBro. Tony Banbury, a member of the Lodge and a Reader (Lay Minister) at St. Mary and All Saints Church, Plymstock.

The Brethren of Harry C Preater Lodge No.8204 have paid tribute to VW Bro Maurice Leighfield, Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master of Wiltshire.

Bro Maurice has recently completed 60 years service to Freemasonry – 48 years of which have been with Harry C Preater Lodge of which he is a Founder Member.

Lodge St Andrew 228, located in Insch, received a letter from Bhenn and Emma from the Insch out of school club. They were seeking assistance in relation to an ongoing Gardening Project in a small field at the rear of Insch Community Hall. There are approximately forty children from primary 1-7 involved.

Demelza Hospice Care for Children has received a vital cash boost from the Cornwallis East Kent Freemasons’ Charity (CEKFC). The presentation of £10,000, which was raised by Freemasons across East Kent, was made by representatives of CEKFC at the Hospice’s headquarters in Bobbing.
