Northumberland Freemasons donate £500 to 1st Winlaton Scout Group

On Saturday 6th May at Wylam Masonic Hall, a social evening was held to raise funds for the 1st Winlaton Scout Group; Simon Babb their group leader was also in attendance on the night.

The event was well supported by brethren from a few lodges and a good time was had by all.  A sum of £343 was raised on the night and with a donation from George Stephenson Lodge, a cheque for £500.00 was presented by W Bro. G Tuck of George Stephenson Lodge.An additional £100 was donated from a member of the public when he found out about the event and how Freemasons had helped the 1st Winlaton Scout Group so all together; £600.00 was raised for an excellent cause.

The donation will help towards the refurbishment of the scout hut.
