Donation to the North Lakes Food Bank – Provincial Mark Benevolent Fund

W.Bro Ken Archer presents a cheque for £500.00 to Linda McDonald and other volunteers of the North Lakes Food Bank.

The North Lakes Food Bank as an organisation receives no statutory funding, but applies to the Phyllis Hardy Charitable Trust, Sellafield SnoW.Ball Fund and relies on other charitable donations and the general public to donate food. It provides food for 550 people per month across Allerdale and Copeland with outlets in Egremont, Whitehaven, Workington, Maryport and Wigton.

This money will be used to provide Lunch Packs for the children of families on benefits who receive free school meals during the school term as these meals are not available during school holidays.

If any lodge has a free evening administrators of the Food Bank are willing to give a talk about the workings of the organisation.
