Several Brethren in the Province of Leicestershire and Rutland who have a keen interest in playing rugby have held their first meeting on 30th April 2016 in order to form a Provincial Rugby Club.

Under the auspices of the Leicestershire and Rutland Light Blue Club, Bro. Samuel Harris of Highcross Lodge No.4835, has been appointed Manager and Bro. Andrew ‘Jock’ Keenan of Enderby Lodge No.5061 as Director of Rugby.

Bro. Daniel Quelch, Rothley Temple Lodge No.7801, has been appointed Club Secretary and Bro. Andrew Rathbone of Enderby Lodge No.5061, has been placed in charge of Promotion and Marketing.

Plans are already underway for an initial training meet up in August 2016 and they are looking for players of any age and skill level, and also for people to assist with coaching, organising, water carriers and sponsorship.

Bro. Samuel Harris said: “We aim to bring the great traditions of rugby and freemasonry together engaging lovers of rugby whether playing, supporting or spectating. Please do get in touch if you wish to take part.”
