Pillar Lodge Social Evening
W.Bro Joe Wildig, Worshipful Master of Pillar Lodge, arranged a Lodge Social on Saturday 26th October at the Masonic Hall, Egremont. The guest speaker for the evening was the Rev’d (Group Captain) T Richard Lee RAF, who is also the High Sheriff of Cumbria.
There were almost 50 Brethren, Wives and Friends at the Social evening, and all enjoyed a very good meal, which was prepared by Joes’ Grandsons.
The highlight of the evening was Rev’d Richards talk on the role of the High Sheriff, and an explanation of the Charity that he is currently supporting, National Crimebeat. This is a Youth Crime Prevention Charity of the High Sheriffs’ Association in England & Wales.
Joe presented a cheque to Rev’d Richard for the sum of £750, which was raised partly on the evening and partly by Pillar Lodges Social fund.
