Freemasons donation bolsters Cultural Center

Four Rivers Cultural Center recently received a $750 donation for its capital campaign from the Ontario’s Acacia Masonic Lodge No. 118.

The nonprofit Cultural Center has raised $126,000, to date, from community donations to address the capital improvements needed in the aging facility, according to a news release from the organization.

Last year, the Cultural Center had to replace one 20-year-old HVAC unit, costing $13,000 with 36 units expected to require maintenance or repairs. It also replaced antiquated equipment in the Meyer McLean Performing Arts Theater that is frequently used by colleges, schools and the community, the release states.

“A capital campaign was the only way to address these urgent concerns. This is the first time FRCC has addressed significant capital or facility needs since it was raised in 1998,” Matt Stringer, executive director, said.

The check was presented to Stringer by Acacia Lodge’s Senior Warden Wayne McConnell and the wards Worshipful Master Martin Creson.

“Four Rivers Cultural Center is providing so much to our community through their programming, and by being a wonderful resource for businesses, individuals and organizations. We wanted to be a part of making sure they can continue to serve the Treasure Valley,” Martin said.
