On the 16th April 2016, The Dee Side Masonic Lodge, No. 3801 held its last meeting before the summer break. Having initiated 2 candidates so far this year, one of whom was a 21 year old Lewis Mason, it was thought a great idea to give Lodge Members an education in a charitable manner, and for the younger brethren to experience Freemasonry in the Community in action.
It was decided that the Lodge would invite W.Bro. David Gibbison, the Chairman of the Teddies for Loving Care Charity, to give a talk about the scheme. W.Bro. Gibbison presented an excellent explanation of where the idea was born, the concept of the scheme and how it has progressed since its adoption in North Wales.
The heart-felt stories on how these little teddies give hope and comfort to children at a very traumatising time for them just goes to show what a brilliant job these teddies do!

The auction realised a large sum of money in a very short time, several brethren bought some very nice quality items from the stall which was set up in the corner of the dining room which took over £250 from the T.L.C. merchandise on sale.

The Dutch Auction was conducted by W.Bro Norman Davies, shown in the foreground, a regular visitor and friend of the Lodge. To raise further funds, W.Bro. Chris Channon sold on the raffle prize of a bottle of Whisky to add to the T.L.C. fund, enabling the Worshipful Master to hand over a cheque for £170 which, with the proceeds of the stall, made it a very successful evening.
