The Provincial Grand Chapter meeting in Southport was a great day for celebrating the honours received by Chorley Group companions. The roll of honour included: Paul Renton to Second Provincial Grand Principal, Ian Higham to Third Provincial Grand Principal, Tony Hall to Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals, with acting ranks for Rey Morris to Provincial Principal Grand Sojourner and Richard Frazer-Bastable Provincial Grand Standard Bearer.
Past ranks were awarded to Arthur Walmsley to Past Provincial Principal Grand Sojourner, Malcolm Lunt to Past Provincial Assistant Grand Sojourner, Alan Birtwistle to Past Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah, Michael Heather to Past Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah, John Breakwell to Past Provincial Deputy Grand Sword Bearer, Ken Ingham to Past Provincial Principal Grand Sojourner, Ray Dainton to Past Provincial Assistant Grand Sojourner and Graham Halsall to Past Provincial Assistant Grand Sojourner.
When Tony Hall was promoted, Peter Allan became Chorley Group Vice Chairman and Don Hesketh became group secretary.
These represent quite a haul on a very busy day. There were 600 companions present and the collection after the meeting raised £2,547.15 for the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity.
