Members of Vale Lodge No 5256 held a very successful evening at the Longlands Hotel, Tewitfield, near Carnforth to celebrate and honour ‘The Ladies’. The WM of the lodge Bill Byrne and the principal guest, his wife Ela, were delighted to welcome fellow Masons, family and friends to their special evening, which was orchestrated with precision and humour by the lodge director of ceremonies Norman Mitchell.

On 2nd June, 2016, prior to the final meeting of the Trevor Kelway Lodge No. 8466 before its summer break, the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Robert Stevens, presented a cheque to Mr Clive Scourfield, the Wales Air Ambulance Charity Community Coordinator for Carmarthenshire. Also included in the picture are members of the Trevor Kelway Lodge.

During the open day at the Masonic Rooms in Malvern on the 25th June, Malvern Priory Mark Lodge No 1351 presented the Worcester Army Cadet Force Charitable Trust with a cheque for £650 in support of the excellent youth development work undertaken within the area.

Business student Allison Hatton was selected by Pembrokeshire College to receive this year’s Colin O’Dare Masonic Bursary Award, given annually by the Provincial Grand Charity of the Masonic Province of West Wales to encourage worthy students to further their education. After being made redundant at the age of 50, Allison enrolled on to the BA (Hons) Business Management course at Pembrokeshire College and has since started-up her own business selling used books on-line.

A cheque was presented on Wednesday 13th July 2016 by WBro John Waddington of Royal Edward Lodge No 1088, from the Area 4 community grant scheme, to match funds raised by the lodge. John informed us that several lodges from Dukinfield had contributed, which financially assisted the scouts to travel to Blackpool, enabling them to join their 100th year celebrations.

Durham Freemasons Raby Castle fun day raises over £50,000 for charity

A FUN day has raised more than £50,000 for charity.

On Saturday, July 2, the Freemasons of the Province of Durham hosted a gala family fun day in the grounds of Raby Castle, near Staindrop, in Teesdale.

The event was to raise funds for the Durham 2021 Festival appeal in which they hope to raise close to £3 million for the children’s charity – the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys.
