The members of Woolmer Forest Lodge, who meet at the Bordon Masonic Centre , held a White Table evening on Wed. 26th March when local charities were presented with cheques. At every masonic meeting there is a raffle and the money raised is distributed every year to local charities.
In times gone by, in all pursuits of self-discovery and self-improvement, as well as spiritual quests, a pilgrimage was necessary. In the ancient world, the deities who controlled certain areas of life were unable to operate outside those areas. Their power to favour or to destroy only operated within their own area. So a man from the mountains who found himself in the plain and was in need of divine help, had to make a pilgrimage back to his place of origin in order once again to be one with the deity controlling the mountainous regions.
Bishop Percy Mark Herbert was born on 24th April 1885 at Shrewsbury where the family of the Earls of Powis, of which he was a member, held hereditary liberties. His father was Major-General the Hon. Tudor Lodge held a Charity evening at the Grange Banqueting Suite on 22nd February when a near capacity audience enjoyed a concert by the Dalesmen Male Voice Choir, who had given their services free for the evening.
The concert had been arranged by the Worshipful Master of Tudor Lodge, also the General Secretary of the Dalesmen in order to raise funds for the local Charity Children First Derby.
