The Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Simon Craig Steele, accompanied by his Director of Ceremonies, Jeff Awdas, on his last night in the role as DC, attended the Faithful Lodge of Durham, at their last meeting before the summer recess, at the Masonic Hall, Birtley on Monday 20th June.
Saturday 25th June 2016 saw hundreds of brethren from all over the Province and beyond, flock to the Lancastrian Suite in Dunston to attend the annual spectacle that is the Annual Meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge. This showcase event is for many the highlight of the masonic calendar and is always thoroughly enjoyed by those who attend.
It was an absolute pleasure for the Festival Director, the West Area Director and festival Secretary Paul Quinn to venture out West to Crook lodge to present their IPM Eddie Gibson with a festival achievement certificate to reward his efforts in raising over £500 on behalf of the Lodge for the festival
Once a year the brethren of Nautilus Lodge in Sunderland celebrate the last meeting before the summer recess, with a Nautical Night. The evening is a celebration of all things Nautical and is also open to non-masons. This offers a fantastic opportunity for non-masons to go inside a full lodge room, to see a lecture and then, retire to the festive board for the famous gastronomical delights of the Nautilus Pie as well as the renowned Nautilus hospitality, harmony and friendship.

The Provincial Grand Master, Norman Eric Heaviside, having accepted a kind invitation from Ken Thomas, Secretary of St George’s Lodge, to attend their regular June meeting, held at Birtley Masonic Hall. On this occasion Eric was accompanied Deputy Provincial Grand Master, John Arthur, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Craig Steele, and a strong Deputation of Provincial Officers, to receive a significant donation towards the 2021 Festival.
