Freemasons of Rural Philanthropic Lodge support local food bank

The Rural Philanthropic Lodge of Freemasons 291 in Burnham-on-Sea raised £1146 at their recent Ladies Festival and Lodge of Instruction Demonstration and Luncheon. This money has been used to provide basic goods to the Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge Foodbank that is run by local Churches and supported by the Trussell Trust. There are many people in very stressful situations, through no fault of their own, who would not be able to provide food for their families without this facility. In normal circumstances, this is a tragedy, but made even worse at Christmas. It is hoped that our contribution will go a small way in helping to provide food on the table for the most needy of our community and help to give some meaning to the expression “Festive Season”.
