On Friday 28th July 2017, members of the newly formed Cumbria Chapter of the Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association rode down to Mold in Northern Wales to attend the Widows Sons 2017 National Rally and to receive their official Charter.

After journeying through torrential rain on the Friday afternoon, they enjoyed better weather on the Saturday, which was all the more welcome as they were to take part in two different rideouts during the day, taking in the beautiful scenery and fantastic roads of North Wales, and which were then followed by BBQs, a Tug of War competition, and then the presentation of their Charter. Proceedings were then completed with music from live bands, a disco, and plenty more excellent Masonic Fellowship.

In the UK the Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association now has 18 Chapters, 600 members, and has donated £42,500 to charity over the past 12 months.

Any Brethren in Cumberland and Westmorland interested in joining the Cumbria Chapter can contact their Secretary at cumbriawsmba@outlook.com for further information.

There are no Lodge meetings to attend, or any ritual to learn, just the opportunity to meet up and ride out with likeminded Brethren, who love their motorbikes, enjoy their Freemasonry, and who want to help support local good causes and promote Freemasonry in the community.
