Freemasons Ladies Evening raises £565 for “Forget Me Not Trust”

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Over 70 members and guests of Affinity Lodge 4872 attended Lymm Golf Club for their Ladies Evening hosted by Mrs Debbie Steeles and Master Andrew Steeles.

Master of Ceremonies, WBro John Bailey oversaw the evening with his usual entertaining wit and banter, Grace and Thanks was given splendidly by the Lodge Chaplain, WBro Neil Gregory, whilst the Toast to the Ladies was presented in a most sincere and heart warming manner by WBro Ray Howarth. Mrs Steeles responded to the Toast on behalf of the Ladies in the traditional manner most splendidly.

Guests enjoy their meal.

The evening included a scrumptious three course dinner, entertainment by the ever-brilliant voice of Mr Gavin Young as well as a surprise visit from a very entertaining young ‘Close Table Magician’ named Jacob Pritchard-Owens, who wowed the guests with his sleight of hand and magical talent.

The chosen Charity for the evening’s Raffle was “The Forget Me Not Trust” that provides food, warmth and friendship to the less fortunate in and around Manchester, many of whom are homeless, helpless and hungry.

The amazing sum of £565.00 was raised and duly presented by Mrs Steeles on behalf of all those present to WBro Ezra McGowan, founder of the charity, and one of the guests that evening, commenting later that the money would go directly towards helping some of the most needy and vulnerable in our society.

Amongst the guests for the evening were three new joining members as well as three new candidates for Initiation, all of which were later seen on the dance floor showing off their “moves”.

The Brethren and Guests danced, sang and laughed the night away until midnight when the evening had to sadly draw to a close.
