AN OTLEY care home has received a funding boost thanks to local Freemasons.

A total of £27,650 from the Province of Yorkshire West Riding’s Provincial Grand Master’s (PGM) Fund has been shared out between 14 good causes.

Teal Beck Care Home in Otley has received £1,000 which it will use to buy a gazebo and garden furniture for residents.

The PGM of the Province of Yorkshire West Riding, David S Pratt, said: “We are proud to once again be able to provide support to these 14 organisations through the PGM’s Fund.

“Each one of the recipients are superb organisations doing important work within their local communities and, thanks to the help of our members and lodges who contribute to this fund, we are able to provide them with financial support.”

The other grants, varying in size from £450 to £4,000, went to a variety of groups and projects including youth and sports clubs, schools, charities and specialist care centres.
