Freemasons of the Mark Degree donate £107,628 to St Oswald’s Hospice in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Trustees of the Mark Benevolent Fund were delighted to approve a grant of £107,628 to St Oswald’s Hospice in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

The funds will be used to completely refurbish the ageing kitchens at their purpose build residence in the Gosforth area of the city. The hospice founded in 1986 provides specialist palliative medical and nursing care to patients with life limiting illnesses. Last year alone saw the hospice provide care for over 2,000 patients, a figure that increases year on year.

Nikki Wilkinson, Campaign Manager at St Oswald’s said, ‘We are simply overwhelmed by the kindness of the Mark Benevolent Fund and VERY excited to begin work on the refurbishment of our kitchen!’
