DARTMOOR ponies have received a £750 boost from Freemasons in Devon.
Ian Kingsbury JP, provincial grand master for the Devonshire Freemasons, handed over the cheque to Miles Pomfrett, a trustee of the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust.
Miles said: ‘We’re most grateful for this donation which has gone towards the cost of a replacement all-terrain ‘workhorse’ vehicle, making life much easier for our volunteers.
‘We rely almost entirely on volunteer to help run our education programmes for young people and to care for the Dartmoor ponies in our charge.’
Ian added: ‘I’m delighted the Freemasons of Devon contribute to such important local causes, many of which are run by volunteers and all make a real difference to the lives of many people.’
