Foundation Derbyshire!

Foundation Derbyshire is the operating name for Derbyshire Community Foundation, an independent charity, building an endowment fund to provide vital grant funding to voluntary and community groups across the county.

Established in 1996, Foundation Derbyshire now manages endowment funds of over £6 million and has made over £13 million of grants across Derbyshire.

It supports the most vulnerable in our society and helps enrich the lives of people living in our communities by funding a wide range of groups, including those involved in supporting carers, survivors of domestic abuse, children, young people and isolated elderly residents.

The Provincial Grand Charity has created a fund within Foundation Derbyshire called the Freemasons’ Derbyshire Fund.  The charity has donated £235,000 into the fund.  The government matched the first £100,000 at 100% and the second £135,000 at 50%, creating a total fund value of £402,500.  The Foundation provides a list of potential beneficiaries to our Charity and a panel of our trustees decide who should receive grants.  Grants are normally capped at £1,000.

See here for the latest newsletter explaining how the Freemasons Derbyshire Fund has been used to benefit local groups and causes.
