Eccles Group travel to Blackpool to receive honours

Recipients and brethren of the Eccles Group travelled to Blackpool to attend the Provincial Grand Lodge held at the Winter Gardens. The centre of Blackpool was streaming with well suited brethren carrying their briefcases and other forms of regalia baggage whilst they were enjoying the sunshine.

In attendance at the meeting were over 1,200 brethren who gathered to witness a colourful ceremony in the magnificent hall.

The Eccles Group were well represented in support of the brethren who were receiving appointments and promotions. The Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison appointed and invested 68 brethren with acting rank and 120 with their first appointments. Followed by the appointment and investiture of 190 brethren receiving promotion in Provincial grand rank.

Eccles Group also had representation with acting officers John Harrop (PrJGD) and Jerry Lawes (PrGStwd) taking part in the ceremony as their last duty of their year. Also, group vice chairman Stuart Boyd and group secretary Patrick Walsh attended to support the recipients.

On conclusion of the Provincial Grand Lodge the brethren made their way to the Hilton Hotel to enjoy a wonderful evening coupled with an excellent meal and wine where over 400 brethren shared fun and friendship to end a wonderful day.
