Local kids will get new coats for the cold winter months.

The Queen City Free Runners, a Masonic organization, gave a more than $5000 check to the Coats for Kids Program through the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools.

The contribution will fund about 150 coat vouchers going to students in 33 different schools.

“We’re very pleased to contribute a check for $5,210 to the Foundation for Coats for Kids, which makes our total contributions to the program more than $15,000,” said Monta Wiggin, National Vice President of the Free Runners.
