EACH year, the Freemasons of Southern Cross Lodge 18 nominate an organisation to raise funds for.

For 2016, that organisation was ManUp for Prostate Cancer, chosen by lodge master Johannes Jacobus De Kock.

Mr Jacobus said he couldn’t be happier with the results – the lodge donated $4000 to ManUp for Prostate Cancer.

He said there was a number of reasons the charity was chosen – but mainly he wanted to support the “good work” the specialist prostate cancer nurse was doing.

The program was made possible back in May last year, thanks to the It’s A Bloke Thing Foundation and ManUp (through a donation from Hand Heart Pocket).

Mr De Kock said the funds were collected during several different events during the course of the year.

Previous charities supported by the lodge, he said, included BlueCare.
