Masonic Charitable Foundation support Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Cystic Fibrosis Trust innovative programme, called SmartCareFC, has been largely funded by a grant from the Masonic Charity Foundation. SmartCareFC will explore the benefits of monitoring the condition at home and liaising with specialist health teams remotely. This should avoid people living with the condition having to repeatedly travel into hospital.

Avoiding regular hospital visits could reduce the risk of hospital-based infections and lessen the daily burden of living with the condition.

Ed Owen, Chief Executive at the Cystic Fibrosis Trust thanked Freemasons for their extremely generous donations:

“We are very grateful to the Masonic Charitable Foundation for the opportunity to expand our work in healthcare technology”

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust, which aims to fight for a life unlimited by cystic fibrosis for everyone affected by the condition, is committed to funding and supporting cutting-edge research to find new and better treatments for cystic fibrosis.
